Gurgaon: After issuing digital job letters to nearly 2,100 teachers, the state government is now gearing up to hire over 12,000 educators in government schools. To plug the gap in the teacher-student ratio in government schools across the state, the directorate of school education has requested the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) to recruit 12,000 additional teachers.
“We have been taking measures to address the shortage of teachers in state-run schools. We are hiring a mix of permanent and contractual teachers. In the next round, we will be recruiting around 12,000 educators. For this, the approval has come from the government,” said a senior education department official.
According to the state education department official, after the school regularisation process and the general transfer drive, a need for over 12,000 post graduate trained (PGT) and trained graduate teachers (TGT) was assessed by the department. For the hiring, the department will take the meritorious candidates selected through the Haryana teacher eligibility test and other parameters of the HSSC.
